K. Lierse S.K. is a Belgian football club, from the town of Lier in the Antwerp province. Its matricule is the n°30. The most capped player at the club is Bernard Voorhoof (topscorer of the Belgium national football team with Paul Van Himst) with 61 caps, all when he was at Lierse. Lierse S.K. was in the Jupiler League from 1988-89 till 2006-07. The team is one of the most traditional Belgian teams with a more than 100 years history. Lierse S.K had a series of first division championship wins, with the last one in 1997. The club is playing in the Herman Vanderpoortenstadion in Lier, which is sometimes also called 'Het Lisp', because of the neighbourhood it's located in.
   The club has been recently bought by an Egyptian business man named Maged Samy, who also owns Wadi Degla Sporting Club in Egypt which has a sporting contract with Arsenal FC. He bought the club by paying all of its debts.
